In an emergency, the emergency services need to be able to get to the scene quickly. However, all too often they are hampered by crash barriers installed along the central reserve, separating the two sides of the carriageway. Fortunately, Steel Constructions also produces “CADOs”: gates that can be used in an emergency.

For optimum safety on the road, it is a good idea to install a CADO, or emergency gate, in the crash barrier at regular intervals along the centre reserve. That emergency gate is nothing more than a crash barrier section that serves as a barrier and can be raised quite easily by means of a counterweight. This creates an opening that can be used by the emergency services.

Anchoring emergency gates is no easy task: it involves installing large steel plates that can absorb and distribute the weight of the crash barrier rails when open.

Customised

Steel Constructions supplies emergency gates in various widths. All the steel parts that are used for these emergency gates are hot-dip galvanised for a long service life. Even if an emergency gate is made to measure, we can still supply it quickly.
