Our plant
Steel Constructions has one of the most modern crash barrier production plants in Europe. The plant was completely modernised in 2010, with the addition of four new production lines for crash barriers. As a result, the plant has a production capacity of no less than 1000 km of crash barrier per annum.
The production lines at Steel Constructions are fully automated. The rolls of steel are automatically stretched, punched, profiled and swaged. In addition, the rails are stacked automatically by robots.
The human factor in this proces is limited to monitoring and inspection. However, this level of automation enables Steel Constructions to produce 5 km of crash barrier per day which is far more than almost all of our competitors. Therefore large orders can be completed in no time.
Consistent quality
Not just the crash barrier rails but also the crash barrier posts, spacers and diagonals are produced on our automated production lines. One of the main advantages of this is that it guarantees that the quality of our steel products is always consistent. What is more, each part is traceable. That means that it is possible to identify the roll of steel used to produce each crash barrier rail.
On the production lines at Steel Constructions, we can produce not only crash barriers for the Netherlands but also ones that can be used abroad. In Europe, crash barrier requirements vary from country to country.
Further automation
Steel Constructions aims to make its production processes as sustainable as possible. Consequently, the plant is continually looking for ways to increase the level of automation in production and reduce CO2 emissions. You can read more about this on our page on corporate social responsibility.
