Steel Constructions aims to become a sustainable company. Steel Constructions believes that business is not only about making money but also about man and the environment. As an innovative company, we try to help make the planet a cleaner and better place by making smart choices.

First and foremost, those choices are made in the plant itself. Because of the modern technology we have within our company, we use around 15% less energy than is used on average within a comparable company. That energy reduction is achieved by measures such as the exclusive use of environmentally-friendly LED lamps at our plant which use up to 65% less energy than conventional fluorescent tubes. Another way that we save energy is by only using modern machines that are equipped with energy-efficient motors.

Waste

At our plant, we try to use raw materials sparingly. The intention is to produce as little waste as possible and to reuse original raw materials as much as possible. Naturally, we separate our waste at Steel Constructions. As a result, most of our waste is recycled.

We also try to limit the emissions that we produce, by running our trucks on environmentally-friendly Euro6 diesel, for example. We also try to limit the welding fumes that we produce by using specific equipment that enables our employees to work as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Sustainable

The products that we produce at Steel Constructions also contribute towards a better environment: all the steel products that we produce are hot-dip galvanised in accordance with NEN-EN 1461. The advantage of this is that it significantly extends the service life of the product so that it doesn’t have to be replaced as quickly.

Our commitment to a better environment is demonstrated in our environmental management system. That is why Steel Constructions is certified to ISO 14001. That means that not only do we comply with current laws and legislation on environment(al risks) but we are also continually looking for new ways to improve our environmental performance.

Personnel policy

Finally, our CSR policy also extends to our own personnel. We aim to provide our employees with a safe working environment. However, we also try to provide our employees with a safe working environment where non-physical safety is concerned. That means that every member of staff needs to feel appreciated and respected. In principle, employment is for the long term. Besides a good income, we provide our employees with a good collective labour agreement.
